The Cavan/Monaghan region is a renowned angling centre, where nature has provided a rich assortment of lakes, rivers and streams. This region is an absolute anglers paradise with over 400 lakes teaming with Bream, Roach, Pike, Eel, Tench, Rudd, Perch and Hybrids.

Mahon Farmhouse caters specifically to the angler.  We have private access to three lakes and offer a wide selection of boats and engines for hire. Also each property has its own bait and tackle storage.  There are 40 lakes within 10km of Mahon Farmhouse. Anglers from the UK and mainland Europe come to fish our local waters. The Dromore river system is famous throughout Europe for its waters that stretch over 10 miles from Ballybay (Co. Monaghan) to Cootehill (Co. Cavan), capturing 8 lakes. Your options are endless.
